Choice of wood
The secret behind the exceptional durability of Collstrop products lies above all in the choice of the right types of wood. Along with exotic hardwood with a natural durability of at least 25 years, Collstrop exclusively uses Nordic pine from sustainably managed forests. This is because compared with whitewood, for example, pine can be impregnated down to its core. Only then is the desired durability achieved for long-term use in the garden.
Processing
Besides the most modern, computer-controlled machinery, in the Collstrop workshop you will also find old wooden work benches where artisan workmanship is still performed. Here are created double dowel and nut connections, moulded double supports, strong roof structures, etc. In short, Collstrop quality!
Impregnation
Merely immersing wood in a green bath does not offer protection – only preservation in vacuum pressure provides real results. Collstrop boasts its own recognised watering station that impregnates carefully selected pine (pine is the basic requirement for deep impregnation) under high pressure until “full saturation”, i.e. until the wood has been completely saturated with the preservation product. This process is computer-controlled and conforms to all environmental standards.
Assembly
Collstrop products fit together perfectly….. Just look at the thickness of the components used, the sturdiness of the connections or the construction technique used. Everything has been fashioned so as to provide a lastingly beautiful, stable and safe product.
